The Battle for Our Thoughts and Our Souls

An influencer is someone regarded as an expert in their field, possessing a loyal following that trusts their opinions. Their endorsements carry significant weight, actively shaping the opinions and actions of others. This influence may stem from their expertise, popularity, or reputation. Interestingly, some influencers are not even real people but are technologically crafted images designed to look like humans. Companies create videos of these virtual influencers to sway public opinion, often fooling people into believing they are real.

Influencers can prompt people to purchase products or engage in various activities. Many are trendsetters, and their followers often imitate their behavior. They wield influence over individuals, organizations, and potential customers, seeking a vast audience and substantial compensation for their impact.

The Hidden Realm of Spiritual Influencers

However, there is another type of influencer worth recognizing—those who operate beneath the radar, not for monetary gain but for the overall degradation and destruction they can cause upon humanity and the kingdom of God. These spiritual influencers are intent on influencing the lives, actions, and thoughts of individuals, impacting the formation of character. They have a significant following, dating back to the serpent's influence on the angels in heaven and our first parents in the Garden of Eden.

These spiritual influencers attack the minds of people, causing great harm because individuals often fail to recognize or refuse to acknowledge their work, blindly following their suggestions. The impact is deadly. As children of God, we must recognize the war waged by these evil spiritual influencers for our thoughts and instead turn our hearts to God. In 1 Peter 5:8, we read, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."

The Battle for Our Thoughts

Our thoughts must be strictly guarded, for one impure thought leaves a deep impression on the soul. If our thoughts are pure and holy, we are better for having cherished them. It is within our power to choose the topics that occupy our thoughts, ultimately shaping our character and determining our eternity.

God wishes us to have mastery over ourselves, but He cannot help us without our consent and cooperation. His Divine Spirit works through the powers and faculties given to us. If we are willing to be made willing, the Savior will accomplish this for us, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Spiritual Warfare: Standing Against Evil Influencers

This battle against evil influencers is a spiritual warfare, as described in Ephesians 6:10-13. We must put on the whole armor of God to stand against the wiles of the devil. Thankfully, God offers us His superior power to defeat these influencers. We must surrender to Him, who can help us overcome.

Principalities and powers and wicked spirits in high places are arrayed against all who yield obedience to the law of Heaven. Persecution should bring joy to the disciples of Christ, for it is evidence that they are following in the steps of their Master.

Embracing the Armor of God

If it is your desire to follow the Lamb wherever He goes, do not be surprised if there are wicked influencers coming against your life. We must remain vigilant, recognizing the spiritual battle waged for our thoughts and actions. By turning our hearts to God and putting on the full armor of God, we can resist the evil influencers and walk in harmony with His will, producing the fruit of His Spirit and securing our place in His eternal kingdom.
